Congrats to our 2023-24 IACUE Affiliate Award Winners!!!
Erik Lenaburg, teacher at The Ontario Center School is committed to transforming teaching and learning which is evident through his focus on standards-based curriculum that utilizes technology in innovative ways. His classroom fosters creativity and innovation while empowering student voice and choice. He is an advocate of STEAM education and computer science. Erik's expertise extends beyond just his classroom. He leads his school site in the development and implementation of learning experiences that integrate educational technology and computer science. Erik is always willing to support colleagues with the integration of apps and tools. His contagious love of learning, reflected in his continuous professional development and collaboration, make him very deserving of this recognition.
Dr. Trevor Dietrich, the principal at Rondo School of Discovery, is a visionary leader who has transformed the school's learning environment into a hub of 21st-century education, emphasizing project-based learning, STEAM, Mandarin immersion, and a "Leader in Me" school ethos where teachers are encouraged to innovate and take risks. His commitment to innovation is evident in the school's state-of-the-art facilities, including two STEAM labs complete with 3D printers, Lego kits, Microbits & Ozobots, and his support for professional development has secured a $30,000 grant for computer science education district-wide. Dr. Dietrich's dedication to teacher support, professional development, and collaboration is showcased through hosting our annual IACUE Reimagine EDU conference. This award is a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions to empowering students and educators alike.
Ashley Yazarlou, EdTech Integration Specialist and CTI Instructional Coach at Hemet Unified School District, serves as our IACUE VP of Communications. Since Ashley joined the Inland Area CUE Board of Directors she has been a valuable contributor to the success of everything IACUE has set out to accomplish. The thoughtfulness, humor, problem solving attitude, and creativity that she brings are great assets to our Board, and she is a true demonstration of why we are #bettertogether. Through her Board role as Vice President of Communications, she has helped to ensure our affiliate members are always informed about all the happenings with IACUE and has also been a willing team member, assisting with other projects and initiatives as well. We are lucky and proud to have Ashley on our team and we are thrilled to honor her as our Affiliate Leader of the Year.
